How To Repair Bosch Ps20

What would you do faced with this tool failure?

I have a lightly used Bosch PS20 12V Li ion drill driver; a tool I have had for probable 10+years. Never heavily used.

Recently the clutch has go noisy, then information technology stopped transmitting power at all. I merely disassembled it to the point that information technology was obvious that several small gears were loose. Reassembled in what presumably was the proper position, and information technology worked! Well, it worked long enough for me to reassemble it, well pleased with myself. Then I think I moved information technology to some other orientation and heard a pocket-sized click, and so the symptom reappeared - no transmission of ability to the chuck. I hear the motor rotating, just the chuck does not.

I beloved this little tool for in store use - especially for small screws because this is not a high speed driver. Great control for smaller parts.

And so
- is this worth sending to a repair shop?
- at present that the DeWalt repair place on Capitol has closed, where might I send this?
- I believe Abode Depot has some tool repair facilities at select stores (where they have tool rentals) . In greater Raleigh area that is Strickland Rd shop and Fuquay Varina store, if I recall correctly - neither of which is anywhere shut to me (near Crossroads in Cary).
- Is there an online store that you could recommend for replacement parts?

I don't Need this (having but replaced it with a CL buy of the aforementioned tool), but I might consider a repair of it weren't likewise many $$.

EDIT - I simply found the Epicycloidal Gear train for $43+ on eastward-replacements parts
Epicycloidal Gear Train Part Number: 2606200229 Bosch Availability: Special Order [ more than info ] Cost: $43.32

What would you lot practice?

I had what sounded similar like indications- turned out information technology was just the clutch ring was not in a detent. Rotated it to the nearest detent and all was good.

10 years is pretty good for a drill. If there'south no easy gear up/ repair (which from your clarification there isn't), I'd replace it. Even if you can detect the right parts, something else is bound to go adjacent. Plus, with a new tool, you also go new batteries.

I would rather retire such an old model and look for something more gimmicky and easier to use. There are then many models out there that are really light and super innovative regarding the energy needs they crave! For me, the all-time impact driver kit right now bachelor in the market is DEWALT DCK240C2 20v Lithium Drill Driver/Bear on Combo Kit (i.3Ah), and I was able to observe it out thanks to a good review that I read the other day. Maybe y'all should consider buying such a model yourself!

toss it and take a expect at the Hilti 12v gear up. Drill, driver and touch on plus batteries and charger. All 3 do a great chore and are very light. Runs circles around competition
